This cranberry sauce is delicious and — sorry — not for the kids — this is GROWN-ASS CRANBERRY SAUCE! The bourbon whiskey in this recipe gives the cranberry sauce a rich and boozy kick that blends well with all the ingredients to create a robust and tangy sauce. It pairs so very well with all the favorite holiday mains and sides including turkey, ham, duck, lamb, stuffing, latkes, curries and tamales! It even goes well with Blackened Ribeye Steak!

Bourbon Cranberry Sauce
This is easy, homemade and *grown-ass* cranberry sauce that is perfect for any special holiday including Thanksgiving, Hanukkah and Christmas!
Ingredients
- 12 oz bag of fresh cranberries
- 2/3 cup of brown sugar
- Zest of 1 lime
- 1/3 cup of Bourbon Whiskey
- 2/3 cup of water
- A pinch of freshly ground whole nutmeg
Instructions
Combine all ingredients in a medium sized saucepan under high heat until it begins to simmer then reduce to medium-low heat.
Allow the sauce to continue to simmer over medium-low heat until is begins to thicken and reduce—approximately 12-15 minutes. `
- Allow sauce to cool before eating.
Notes
Alcohol will still be present when cooking is complete so please do not serve this sauce to anyone under the age of 21!!!
This sauce keeps well for up to 14 days in the refrigerator. It is highly recommended to make a day or two in advance to allow flavors to bloom.
